It’s crazy to think about, but this is my 8th pregnancy! Our path to having babies and growing our family definitely has been a long and bumpy one. I had our first when I was 21, and she is 14 years-old now! After having our first, we unfortunately ended up battling secondary infertility - including 5 pregnancy losses - in the next few years. And, to top it all off, my body went into perimenopause and we were told we wouldn’t be able to have any more biological children naturally. Miraculously, I felt the need to try one more time and we had a miracle happen in 2020 when I gave birth to our rainbow baby boy…11 years after our first! That pregnancy and delivery was definitely complicated and ended up with an emergency induction due to preeclampsia at 38 weeks. Then, baby was in the NICU for a week. This current pregnancy was not at all planned - we had a girl and boy, and considered our family complete, especially with how much loss we have experienced. BUT, God had other plans and we found out the day after our little rainbow boy turned 3 this February that we were pregnant! Definitely can say it’s a totally different experience being pregnant now at 35 than it was with my first at 21! Just absolutely amazed at how blessed we are to have this second little boy joining us soon!
